Summary:

The project aims to reduce inequalities in education, especially for socially disadvantaged Roma pupils, by supporting them in their transition to primary school, coping with the demands of compulsory school attendance, motivating them to stay in education, and working intensively with their parents and teachers.

Within the project, 4 content activities will be implemented to compare access to quality education for local socially disadvantaged (mainly Roma) children and pupils. They are its main target group. Alongside them, however, the project will also focus on the situation of non-Roma classmates, parents of socially excluded children and pupils, and secondarily (but with no less importance) on the pedagogical staff of partner primary schools and local residents from the majority population, to whom Roma pupils and young people will be introduced in the light of the small successes they will achieve thanks to the project. The feeling of success is considered a key prerequisite for the retention of not only Roma socially disadvantaged pupils in the educational process, but at the same time it is a fundamentally deficient phenomenon in their lives.

The main instrument of change will be the introduction of teaching assistants and school assistants who, in addition to directly supporting pupils, will develop positive communication with families. The project will offer a new range of leisure activities and will emphasise pupils' motivation and awareness of their own value.
