Project description:

The general goal is to effectively and comprehensively resolve cases of domestic violence that occur in Most and its surroundings and whose victims ask for help.

The purpose of the project is to strengthen the capacity of the system for preventing and combating domestic and gender-based violence through the creation of the Centre for Victims of Domestic Violence in Most, which will provide a comprehensive programme of assistance to victims of domestic violence. This centre will consist of a counselling centre located in the building of the Most Regional Charity. Another part of the centre will be two flats in a regular housing estate, which will serve as crisis or emergency accommodation. In addition, the capacity of support staff (2 counsellors, a psychotherapist, a lawyer) who help the victims, will be increased. A new system will be put in place to locate victims of domestic violence who are threatened by their abuser and are interested in resolving their situation.

Two interdisciplinary teams will be created to work effectively and comprehensively with victims. These teams will help with the other goal of the project, which will be to return victims of domestic violence back to normal life. The first goal will be to get the victims out of the control of the abuser, both physically, financially and socially. The aim will therefore be to find them standard housing, employment or other income and to help them integrate into other social groups. The final objective will be to raise awareness of domestic violence among the public and professionals. Through the media and the organisation of educational events.

The establishment of the centre will help to better address cases of domestic violence in the Most region and help victims of domestic violence to live without fear.
