Capitain Robert McCaleb was a member of the United States Army, which on the 8th May 1945 liberated Mysliv from the Nazi occupation. One of the members of Czechoslovak cavalry was František Wawrečka, who spent the rest of his life in Mysliv and in 2005 was awarded honorary citizenship of Mysliv. During 2016 liberation celebrations, Cpt. Robert McCaleb was also awarded this title and there was a memorial plaque revealed to commemorate US Army.

Project Idea

Specific outputs of the project are:

  • Reconstruction of stated building.
  • Building a new historical museum.
  • Surrounded by a large garden where larger artefacts could be placed and it also could be used as a place for relaxation.
  • Exposition devoted to all who were affected by the World War II in any way and who contributed to the return of freedom to our home.
  • The main building of the parish could be used for accommodation of the visitors.

A possible cooperation:

  • Exhibitions within the stated building focused on history (mainly 20th century).
  • A common arranging of historical events (e. g. anniversaries).
  • An exchange of experiences based on regular workshops, seminars or annual events, which would take place in the mentioned building.
  • Long term partnership with an opportunity to organize an Exchange.
  • Projects in the area of running the history.
  • Maintaining a historical monuments and community life in this municipality.
  • Any other projects which can be center around the museum.
